1.       Difference between Cc and Bcc option in an e-m ail program?
Cc
Bcc
It stands for Carbon Copy.
It stands for Blind Carbon Copy.
It allows you to send the same message to several people at the same time.
It allows you to send the message to several people but without letting them know the recipients of the same message.

2.       What do you mean by attachment?
Ans. Attachments are files that are sent along with the main message of the e-mail.
3.       Name three Boolean operators used in Search engines/
Ans.  AND, OR, NOT.
4.       How is chat different from videoconferencing?
Ans.  Chat lets you communicate with other online users where as Video Conferencing provides a facility for face-to-face conversation with different people living in different parts of the world.
5.       How is e-mail different from newsgroup?
Ans.  Newsgroups are discussions that take place among several people on a wide range of topics, from recreational activities to scientific research where as e-mails are free messages that are sent across the world.
6.       What is e-commerce?
Ans.  Electronic commerce or e-commerce means online buying and selling of any product. It is a way of enabling and doing business over the Internet.

1.       What are advantages of e-mail over ordinary mail?
Ans. The advantage of e-mail over ordinary mail is that it helps sending/ receiving electronic messages to multiple recipients simultaneously. It is faster and cheaper than the ordinary mail.
2.       Details of netiquettes you should follow while sending messages on the Internet.
a)      E-mail should be directed towards the interested member only.
b)      Flaming words should not be used.
c)       Caps lock should be turn off.
d)      Signatures should be limited to maximum four lines. Avoid unnecessary messages.
e)      It is important to sign out from the account properly to avoid misuse.
3.       Protocols for e-mail delivery:             
a.       SMTP: It stands for Simple Message Transfer Protocol. This protocol is used for delivering a message from an e-mail client to an e-mail server or between two e-mail servers.
b.      POP3 : It stands for Post Office Protocol. It is designed in a way that once you download the email from the e-mail server the mail us deleted from the server and then  the protocol disconnects.
c.       Internet Message Access Protocol(IMAP):This protocol is also used to download an email from email server ,however, it is designed in a way that after downloading the email from email server, a copy of the mail still stays in the server ,and for this reason it requires more disk space and resources on the server.
4.       Explain the working of search engines.
Search engines broadly consist of the following 3 components:
a. the crawler
b. index
c. the search algorithm
Search engines have automated programmes known as crawlers or spiders or bots that automatically scan various websites and create indexes of URLs keywords, and links. When a user submits a search query ,software working on the engines search algorithm goes through the index to find web pages with keyword matches and ranks the pages in terms of relevance.
5.       Explain how video conferencing works?
A camera takes the video picture and also records the associated audio. The picture and the audio signals are converted into compressed digital signals. These converted audio And video signals are transmitted through a modem to a other end where they are converted back into picture and audio, which is projected on the screen and heard through the speakers .
6.       What is blog? Give details of some common type of blogs.
A blog is a type of website usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of news on particular subject, descriptions of events, graphics or videos . A typical blog contains text, images , videos and links to other bogs/webpages related to a particular topic. Many people use a blog just to organize their own thoughts. It is a place to collect and share things that one finds interesting. An important part of blog is the ability for readers to leave their comments in an interactive format.
Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog , or adding an article to an existing blog is called blogging. Individual articles on a blog are called blog post or entries. A person who posts these entries is called a blogger .
Some common types of blogs are listed below:
a. A personal blog, which is an ongoing diary by an individual, is the most common type of blog .
b. A blog that uses videos as a medium is called a vblog, whereas one that pre dominantly uses photographs is called photo blog.
c. A blog that focuses on art is called an art blog or artlog.
d. Professional blog is a blog about once industry and profession but not in an official capacity for his /her company.
e. A corporate blog is a blog for one’s company in an official capacity.

f. Some blogs focus on a particular subject e.g.: fashion, education or travel.
